OUR SERVICE

Wondercabinets is a personalised service creating collections of treasures in heritage-inspired cabinets.

We use engaging ways to bring together memories of people, places, experiences and achievements through the display of cherished possessions in beautiful cabinets and other keepsake products, capturing stories for future generations.

We help you bring together your souvenirs, mementoes and heirlooms to create your own wondercabinet. The process of holding objects and reminiscing about their associations allows emotions to be expressed and processed, connections to be healed and memories to be held dear.

The entire selection and setting-up process takes place in the comfort of your own home, where we can experience first-hand the backdrop, purpose and contents, and together arrange your treasures in

the cabinet.

Here are some examples of the types of stories and memories that can be found in a collection.

CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

"These items represent memories of growing up: my very first sewing box, which still contains some of the original embroidery threads and patterns, and the accordion which I learned to play as a twelve year old."

NATURE & FOUND OBJECTS

"I love going for walks to hear the birds, the sea and the wind. To feel the warmth of the sun, smell the freshly mown fields or the woodland floor after a shower of rain. Usually some small part of nature finds its way back with me in the pockets of my coat or the rim of my hat: lichen from an old oak tree, a beetle, a pebble from a Scottish beach.  Bringing nature into my home brings harmony into my life."

PEOPLE FRIENDS ANCESTORS

"These possessions are all that remain in memory of ancestors I never knew, but whose stories still entertain the family. The heather-patterned hip flask a reference to time spent in Scotland; the fob watch on the silver chain that would have lived in a smart waistcoat pocket; the postcard with the few kind words; the monogrammed cufflinks.  Each recalling a story that forms part of life we never knew but loved all the same."
